NYC post-punk duo FRENCHY AND THE PUNK present ‘Gear Geist’, a largely instrumental track peppered with expansive atmospheric and ethereal vocals, reflecting the overall 'mind phantoms' theme of their latest album Zen Ghost'. The accompanying video was filmed in Yorkshire and Suffolk. The instrumentation meshes to create an otherworldly soundscape.
Frenchy and the Punk is SAMANTHA STEPHENSON and SCOTT HELLAND, co-founder of DEEP WOUND (with Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis and Lou Barlow) and hardcore group OUTPATIENTS. Yahoo! Music named them one
of the Top 25 duos in the US for their vivid blend of post-punk, cabaret and dark folk. This single follows their cover of Siouxsie and the Banshees’ classic 'Cities In Dust'. The duo is also
currently touring (see dates below).
Portland's PETE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (aka Peter G. Holmström of THE DANDY WARHOLS) has released the 2-track 'Tic Tac' 7" vinyl version featuring SLOWDIVE frontwoman RACHEL GOSWELL via Little
Cloud Records. Previewed by the video for 'Tic Tac' directed by Francesca Bonci, it comes on translucent yellow vinyl and features a remix by ANTON NEWCOMBE of THE BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE
as the B-side.
'Tic Tac' originally featured on Pete International Airport's recently released third album 'It Felt Like The End of the World' - a meticulously crafted psychedelic rock journey into the dark
heart of electronica, released just ahead of the 7".
